Here, read this NYT Wirecutter review. Amazon Basics NiMH (in both AA and AAA) were rated the best --- above both Eneloop and Energizer rechargeables. If you read the review, they did consider Ladda batteries, along with Tenergy, Duracell and a few other brands -- but the Eneloops, Amazon Basics, and Energizers met their testing requirements and then were tested against each other. The Amazon Basics were found to be the best. Regardless, Eneloops are thought to be better than Laddas and the Amazon Basics beat out even the Eneloops.

The only thing that matters is where the batteries are made. If they are made in Japan, consider them among the best and not that much different from one another in real world use. If they are not made in Japan, than they are on another much, much lower level. Amazon basics have used both, so you can't go off of the name and brand alone.

LADDA killed the Amazon Basics
I wanted to follow up on this comment. I'm a fan of PF, and subscribe to his channel. That said, I watched that video and disagree that LADDA "killed" Amazon Basics (Silver). Btw, he was using the more expensive higher mah LADDA's I believe, as well... but if you watch the entire video, the Amazon Basics scored better than the LADDA's after one year (I believe it was around @3:20 secs into video).

Also, LADDAs were made in Japan, but I thought a bunch of people had stated they were being made in China. Is that not true?

I thought some LADDAs were now being made in China - is that not true? LADDA *always* come up in any NiMH discussion. Eneloops come up, as well. It's funny, but Energizer Rechargeables have quietly been receiving top scores over Eneloop and LADDA.

Setting aside where LADDAs are made, I do generally agree that on average, Japan produces the highest quality NiMH batteries. That does not mean some very high quality batteries that may beat some Japanese batteries are NOT coming out of China. Again, on avg Japan vs China, Japan wins... but a specific brand like Amazon Basics (silver) is not "an avg." Amazon Basics (silver) have been consistently scoring very high on numerous battery comparisons.

The final point I'd add - is that IKEA shipping is expensive. So, unless you have an IKEA nearby, or you just happen to be shopping at one, it's hard to justify a special trip using $5 a gallon gas to get the LADDAs.

Can't tell from reviews where these are made. If they're made in Japan, there's only one Fujitsu factory over there, so they'd most likely perform like Eneloops.
