I used to be a full-on headphoniacal collector. These are, IMHO, the pinnacle intersection of cost vs performance.

There ABSOLUTELY are better. However, not without spending significantly more money.
Widely recognized as one of the best deals on excellent headphones. Great detail and soundstage. The bass isn't as pronounced as bassheads might wish. But I second this poster; they will fit loosely unless you have a big noggin.
Great price for decent headphones. These are the most comfortable/cool headphones in my small collection. I do have a small head and they fit loose on my head.

At $61 these are a must buy if your looking to dip your toes into better audio.

Has omnidirectional pattern, so only for quiet spaces. Not my opinion, says so on Vmoda website. Just sayin' because that won't work for me. Too much noise here.

The Lyx Pro HAS30 is a solid choice at $44.99 on Amazon. Though the OneOdio Studio Pro 50 has a little better comfort and bass to me for just $5 more.

I have a pair of these headphones that I purchased a few years back from a deal here on SD and I love them! I use them for gaming and just listening to music. These are still going strong and although I don't use them as much as I use too for PC gaming, I still find myself going to these when I want to use an open back earphones.

Been using these for gaming for the last 5 years. While I've really wanted to go wireless, I still cannot find anything that comes close to these+vmoda mic. I expect to be using these for the next few years at least.

I just updated from these to a pair of DT-990-250ohm

It is an upgrade but the Phillips are extremely comfortable for long sessions of ANYTHING (music, video games, zoom, etc...) and since the cable is detachable you can add a v-moda mic https://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Boo.../B00BJ17WK and create the ultimate Zoom headset. The fact they are open back means you can still hear yourself and not end up yelling. I shared an office with my wife during most of Covid and had to switch to the open backs or found myself yelling.

These let in all noise, cause you know open back, so not for loud places but if you don't own an open back pair and want to grab on these are the ones to get

If on a Windows PC I do suggest trying out of the EQ settings

It's a little wonky but worth it

these are very good headphones. i used to have ath-m50, and in comparison, found the build of these better by leaps and bounds.

the build on the 9500's is superior compared to m50's. the earpads and headband are both cloth, so they won't rub off like the cheap pleather on the m50's. the hinges also don't crack or break as easily as on the m50's. the earpads are softer on the 9500's, so you can wear them for longer periods of time. the 3.5mm port allows you to use any replacement cable, and even a mic attachment. this allows the 9500's to be turned into a very good gaming headset, especially when combined with something like vmoda boom mic.

i am not a pro music listener, but to me, the sound quality between the two is very similar, except that the 9500's are obviously open-back headphones, so some sound will leak out.

The ATH-M50 and the DT-770-32 are good baselines and you can often find around the $100 mark, the Sens HD280s are also in the same ballpark

general rule of thumb with headphone is never buy from a company that doesn't sell professional studio gear, the only exception is Bose since they make headphones for Sonar and Aviation markets but even than Sony has a better package
