The little savings in time and ease do add up over time. In addition, the USB port is a common failure point for phones. Wireless charging eliminates the stress on the port (though it can generate more heat).

I'm still debating whether it's worth getting this stand over a cheaper generic Qi charger. The Pixel 6 is limited to 12w of charging on standard Qi chargers and 21w/23w (for the 6 and 6 Pro) on this charger, but it will only charge at those speeds until about 50% charge before dropping. The fan does allow it to stay cool and not lower wattage due to heat. It will turn the Pixel into a Nest Hub, though I generally don't want that when I'm sleeping. It's supposed to turn the screen off in the dark, but people have reported mixed results with that.

Choices, choices.
In what universe is $60 for a wireless charger a "slick" deal?

What is the purpose of this...doesn't it just make more sense to have it plugged in so you can use it while it's charging? What REAL problem does this solve? (Other than saving 1/2 of a second of not having to plug in a wire)
That's fair. I bought a pixel stand for my Pixel 3 XL, almost never use it, because it's a pain to Check messages while it's on the stand

Great price. These work great with the Pixel 6 Pro. Remember that it includes the 30w adapter which is normally $25 separately. I have one on my desk and another on my nightstand. At this price, I'm tempted to get a third one for work.

You're not wrong, but fast wireless charging only works with a Pixel stand.

The concept is BS, but the $20 savings is a savings.

To be clear, I do not endorse this Apple-esque proprietary hardware game.

The original idea was it was supposed to turn your Pixel into a Google Home- it would detect when it was docked and become a smart display. In practice (I bought two when they came out) the feature was "ehh" and it wasn't worth the price.

For less than these, I got the Samsang dual watch/phone charger stand and it's a LOT better. I don't think they sell it anymore but there are some knockoffs on Amazon that seem to be just as good.

I got one. I suppose if it's now worth it to have at home I will use it at work.

I think usb ports failing was a common issue in the micro USB days. Its much more rare and insignificant now.

I agree with the other commentator. I think wireless home charging stands are only good for fringe use scenarios. I have the previous version of this and 2 other variations of genetic brand wireless chargers... All of them are collecting dust.

I do* find versions of this useful in the car.... But that's about it.

How's the fan noise on it? My Samsung charger with a fan is noticeable enough to be annoying as a bedside charger, since it starts and stops intermittently.

I don't have pristine hearing, but it's not noticeable to me at all. The fan doesn't go on all the time, either

I don't own a wireless charger but been tempted to get one. Mostly for bedtime charging. When you're tired you're extra lazy and fumbling around for the cable in the dark is a hassle. Having an upright wireless charger also (in theory) makes it more fool proof as you don't have to adjust position (compared to those flat/horizontal chargers). I'm more curious if this would work with most phones e.g. I have a vanilla S20
