Been cutting my own hair for over a decade. Conair brand is hot garbage. Buy a Wahl, often on sale for $15-20. Unless you enjoy ripping hair out of your head after a few cuts..
You'd be surprised. Clippers are clippers, really. Professional ones mostly just last a lot longer. Quite a few guys at work started having their wives cut their hair during the COVID shutdowns and I was absolutely blown away by how many of them weren't going to a barber. Barbers near me have never cut hair for people of my ethnicity so ironically I'm the one that always looks like I got my hair cut off of a YouTube tutorial, and I'm the sucker paying $60/month to get my head f***ed sideways.
Nothing can ever top Flowbee as the best at-home hair vacuuming system.

I wonder what percentage of people who buy these can actually do good haircuts.

Great deal, had my clippers for years, the color coding will help me for sure. That trimmer looks like a nice bonus too. Unfortunately I just spent an hour searching for $25 worth of stuff I barely need to get the free shipping Big Grin

Good price for a reputable brand. Most kits like these are $25+
When cutting your own hair, go very slowly, especially your first few times. You likely only need a stationary mirror and a small handheld, but a trifold is great too if you want to invest in one. Get some decent barber shears too... avoid using regular scissors as they don't cut as well. Start with easy cuts such as an undercut, maybe with a combover if you like. Then move on to fades if you so please. The hardest part of cutting your own hair is that you can only practice every few weeks since you have to wait for it to grow back... find some willing test subjects if you can so you can at least get comfortable with the clippers and/or shears. Lastly, there are tons of YouTube videos on how to do whatever cut you might want.
Sincerely, a guy who cut his own hair for 2 years.

If you're ripping out your hair, you aren't oiling the blade enough.

Also, the little protective piece that ships over the blade is not a throw away packaging material. It's meant to go right back on after you've oiled it.

The only major difference between "professional" equipment and the home stuff is professionals maintain their equipment regularly.

However, I will say that Wahl's Aquablade does set it apart from the rest (the standard clippers, not so much). It's the only decent showerproof trimmer I've been able to find. It's just a shame it doesn't support more cutting guides.

Spend a little more money for a wahl or andis that will last you for years. This will end up in a landfill because of the low quality

There are certain items you shouldn't buy at this low of a price point. This is one of those things. Unless you barely have any hair or it's for other areas of your body, take the savings from not going to a stylist and get the $50 Wahl clippers. It'll last forever and actually work well compared to this.

I think most buy them to trim their pubics.
