I bit partially beceause I was curious how these sellers play their game. Basically they take advantage of the small time window before they get busted to try to net as much $ as possible, with long-delivery lag times to prolong the time before customers all notice
I don't recommend promoting the seller but it's helpful to leave the information around for future Slickdealers to learn from and avoid similar traps

Amazon uses "shipped" status as the automatic trigger in their system to release the funds to the seller, so the sellers will either use these fake tracking numbers, or actually mail someone a worthless random envelope or something.

Amazon says I have to wait until the delivery window ends (45 days from now) then contact them again to ask for a refund. It's ridiculous but from what I found online this seems standard.
Hope this helps others in the future. I wish someone spelled out all the details to satiate my curiosity and help us understand exactly what these scammers are doing so we know what to look for.

No, but I see multiple sellers on that item are fake, both "jguygk" and "XP Lite". If you click their seller name you'll see they have no reviews and the detailed seller info (they are all required to show an address now) displays some crazy long transliterated Chinese name with some random Chinese address. The seller I bought from was similar.
