No. Not with Capitol One. I asked at checkout about the new card. The cashier said I can
choose to only have a Kohls charge card and not the Kohls Visa. Didn't know we get a choice.

Right now I believe you can ask to be rolled down to a Kohl's Credit Card (the new capital one) from the KRV.

The old 12 digit account Kohl's Cards with only magstripes are officially defunct and no longer issued.

I saved this link a while back, in case they upgraded me to the Capital One Visa, which they did not. But it's good information to have. Scroll down the page to the "Top questions" and you will see this:

What if I would prefer to have a Kohl's Card, not a Kohl's Rewards Visa?

If you would prefer to have a Kohl's Card that can only be used to make purchases at Kohl's, set aside the Kohl's Rewards® Visa that was mailed to you in September and be sure not to use it. You can use your existing card for any shopping you'd like to do, call the number on the back of the Kohl's Rewards® Visa and we will get you a new Kohl's Credit Card that can only be used at Kohl's. If you use your Kohl's Rewards® Visa, we will not be able to reissue you a Kohl's Credit Card.

that's it? I read the post above but I thought there was more. also, https://www.kohls.com/faq/article/4273 confused me a bit hence the question!

anyway, the kcc seems the same as the old kc. I think I'll go for that.

I never got a sale mailer but my email and loaded coupon on 20%. but no big deal wasn't planning on ordering coupon eligible anyway.

But I am curious that I don't seem to have the MVC free shipping. Maybe because the 30%/20% is only for Kohl's charge holders?

When I try to apply that coupon I get the error "This coupon is valid for rewards members only."

ugh.. of course I have a rewards account linked. And when I got my new Kohl's Card it even said "Congrats on being a MVC!".

yes, it is linked. I can even go right to the checkout phase, which in the past made the MVC free shipping come up but not this time.
