FYI/PSA: be careful with how you store these. The blue rubberized/plastic coating on the handles/loops is prone to melting. This happened with a pair I had and I was just talking to my buddy who has the exact same pair and he said the same thing! We're not sure exactly what causes it to melt - possibly coming into contact with certain other materials/plastics or if it's a temperature related issue (or all of the above). But just a word of warning.

EDIT: looks like there are a number of other reviews where people report the same/similar. I got these back in 2020 and found that they had melted probably within a year or two? Was bummed out about it but I bought these for $1.89 back then lol (probably a previous SD thread)

Could be from getting in contact with Zman soft baits. Otherwise good snips, salt water approved. Had them for over 3 years mostly kayak fishing in Tampa bay, no issues so far.

I know those zman baits cause issues and melt too haha. In this case im pretty sure these werent in contact with any zman baits though.

I've been using these for over a year now. I prefer them over the Boomerang snips. I leave them tethered to my kayak so it's either in the sun or in the hot garage. It hasn't melted yet and they seem to stay sharper than the snips. If they break somehow, I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. Great value at $4-$5. Pair them with the Cuda Universal Lanyard for $3.24 https://www.walmart.com/ip/496981425

This has been at this price consistently for years according to the 3C's, with the exception of one price spike and several prices drops to just under $2.

Really is a phenomenal product. Have used for a few years, they stay in my fishing pack in their dedicated little pocket. I used to use a small pair of scissors to cut braid, but these are smaller and more comfortable, and the serrated outside edge does a better job at cutting mono line than the regular scissors.
