I have this.

Pros: It's really quite relative to a gas mower which I like because I have lots of family that have started to get hearing issues. No gas or oil. Starts every time.

Cons: It really doesn't have the power of a gas mower. Struggles with tall grass or a big yard. I'm sure eventually the battery will die to the point where it needs to be replaced and they are expensive, though there are knock off ones on eBay that are fairly reasonable.

All in it's a decent option If you have a small yard (<0.2 acres) and you don't let it get too long between mowing.

Bought this exact same combo 6 years ago for around $240 on Amazon Day. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Mow my lawn once a week using the mulch option and it does just fine. Takes me about 40-45 minutes to mow my lawn and never takes more than 2 4.0ah batteries (usually a few bars left on the 2nd 4.0ah battery too). Actually got the entire lawn done with a single 5.0ah battery last week. Greenworks products are constantly on sale, just need to be on the lookout and the deals often include batteries too. I'm up to 4 4.0ah batteries, 1 5.0ah battery and 1 2.0ah battery. All tools and batteries still going strong, never going back to gas. This is a solid deal IMO if you wanna go with the 40v line.

40v is where it's at for the vast majority of homeowners or renters that have to do their own lawn care. The batteries are cheap and 40v is plenty of power for trimmers, blowers and smaller chainsaws used for light tree trimming. As long as you don't let your lawn get too high they have plenty of power for mowers and even if the grass is high you just gotta go a little slower. Doesn't feel that different from my 160cc mower.

Personally I went with Skil since I warrantied my mower and got a gift card from Lowe's. Basically the same deal (currently ongoing), 5 amp battery kit and mower for $250. Made by Chervon which makes ego. I tried really hard to justify going with Ego but I just don't have a big enough yard to need all those bells and whistles. If I want to buy any other tools we're talking big money. Even just batteries for ego are a few hundred. With what I saved by not buying Ego I was able to buy a universal attachment string trimmer with 4 amp battery. I'm thrilled with it.

I can't wait for YouTube to actually start testing torque figures, real life battery life and such on all these mowers. It's like the wild west trying to figure out what's actually good.
