"Just build it yourself" is his bit...with no alternatives given. I don't have this particular table but I see no reason why the table itself wouldn't be perfectly serviceable, at least until you decide to upgrade. At 12" deep I'd prefer it to be a little deeper but even at that dimension it will make your drill press a much more efficient and repeatable tool. The fence looks to be a little lackluster, though. You could swap it out for an aluminum extrusion as a fence. It doesn't need to be fancy...just something with a straight face and holes that line up with the perpendicular track. A piece with multiple tracks is a plus so you can mount stops to it. But even the stock fence will probably serve you well for a bit.

If you'd rather spend more on something bigger with more aluminum I can recommend this from Woodpeckers: https://www.woodpeck.com/drill-pr...k-kit.html I was gifted this for Christmas a few years ago and it's fantastic.

Whatever table you choose be aware that there will be some additional work to mount it, depending on the specific press you have. Mine required a piece of slightly oversized MDF to mount to the cast iron that gave a surface to backscrew the table to. Might involve some trial and error.

Whatever the case, for most consumer woodworking drill presses, a new table is the best bang for your buck, hands down.

Edit: one other tip...don't assume the taller the fence the better. Tall fences might interfere with the spinning chuck on holes close to the edge of the material. This can be remedied by using a spacer block but that effectively makes your usable table smaller and can be a minor inconvenience. Something to keep in mind.

Edit 2: On second look the above link is for the aluminum only and does not include the table itself. Here is the package that includes the table: https://www.woodpeck.com/woodpeck...age-1.html
Which alternatives do you suggest for less/same amount? I've been looking for a table for my press.
please elaborate on alternatives
all the ones i've seend are significantly more costly

$38.09 too much.

While I've been surprisingly impressed with WEN lately (or I've just been lucky), this drill press table is 🗑!

So many easy, and far better, drill press tables can be made for less/same amount.

No doubt the Woodpeckers table is an excellent piece of kit. But for $190 there are MANY other options out there for quite a bit less. Starting with the upgraded WEN table for $52 [wenproducts.com]. Even the Powertec 71184 [amazon.com] table (16"x24") for $110 looks like it might be a good option compared to $190 for the Woodpeckers table.

All that said, I made my own table. But that was before aluminum extrusions doubled in price too. Including aluminum hold-down clamps, t-tracks and aluminum fence I had $50 into it. Now that would be closer to $100 for the bits, plus whatever you're going to use for the table surface and your time and effort.

I linked the WP because it's what I have and I can vouch for it but you're right, plenty of options out there.

I have this and to me it's useful because of the fence in the back, I can just set the distance on both sides, then set the stop block and know I'll have repeatable holes

I don't think it's a necessity but it's definitely convenient to have. So it depends on how much you value your time and frustration

This is nice. I've been happy with a 3/4 ply scrap table c-clamped, then scrap 3/4 straight edge with two irwin quick clamps, and another quick clamp and scrap piece for a stop.

I don't have this one, but built one almost the same using some leftover 3/4" birch plywood. I find having a fence, larger table, t-tracks for some Rockler hold-down clamps, and a replaceable sacrificial insert extremely useful (and I just have a cheap tabletop drill press that I got from harbor freight!). I built mine with a round insert so I can spin it slightly and get a fresh area to drill into to prevent blowout. I find that more useful than this square one that you can rotate 3 times as long as the bit isn't lined up right in the middle. If I didn't have mine already, I'd definitely go for this Wen. I couldn't justify the woodpecker.

Any recommendations for a press table where one is almost exclusively working with aluminum and acrylic?

Aye. $5 less than WEN. Good catch. For those looking for a turn-key table, this is probably the way to go. 👍🏻
