I liked these lights but the Battery problem is just too ugly. I had a 400 pro and the battery died within a year. Brought a new 600 pro for 499 on sale and came with a dead battery. Returned. The problem with their batteries is that you have to baby them. Really pay attention to how you store them. I have Interfit S1s and you dont have to do anything. They ard 5 years old and still functioning. Simpler to use. I have the Westcott FJ400s, and again, no special instructions on Batteries. All i know is that I had a 600pro, 400pro and 200pro. 2 out of 3 batteries failed. The 200 is the only one that didnt. At 190 a battery its just to expensive. If you look on line at teardowns of their batteries the same thing is said. They are so so bateries with crappy controllers.

Battery issues. Don't fall for the sale price. Batteries will run you anywhere feom $150-$200.

That's a shame to hear this has battery problems. Godox has always been my go to for price/performance

Never knew about the battery issues on this one! I have the original "Xplor 600" (non-pro) along with 4x batteries.. going on.. 5-6 years? and all 4 batteries work great still.

I do see that CheetahStand (who repairs these) does offer a "battery reboot" for $40. With that said.. if you need the light for a paid shoot, you can't just hope the battery is working.

I run a large professional photographer community and know hundreds of people that use Flashpoint/Godox (same physical lights, just flashpoint is Adorama's branding and they include warranty), including myself having a dozen lights. I have never run into a single issue with any of them over the years, and I've used them for at least 5 years now.
I'm sure there are some with an issue, but it's not exactly widespread. These are incredible lights, especially for this price.
One thing I will note - these can run for LONG periods of time on the battery, but using the modeling light is what kills it quickly. I don't use the modeling light, and no issues!

A couple things to consider:

Do you need battery powered or wired? I always prefer battery so I can take it places.. but in a studio a wired flash might do just as good (and save you some $$)

Do you want LED or a strobe? For product photography, sometimes having an LED or constant light is nice so you can actually see the light and how it's affecting the subject (the product!) without using a flash bulb. Flash/bulbs will typically get you more power (and be more portable via the battery power)

Aside from that, I'm a big fan of the Godox/Flashpoint lights. They use a common mount (Bowens) so most accessories will work with them.. they also have built in transmitters so you don't need to buy and attach extras.. You can also change the power remotely from the camera/transmitter instead of going to the flash itself.. and the line is easy to expand. I have 3x AD600's and a couple wireless speedlights, and all work within the same system easily.

One of the benefits of these are that if something happens to it.. it's generally (somewhat) easy to find a replacement part or bulb. With some off-brand lights they may change battery packs or bulb types regularly and can be difficult to find the one you need.

Look into Flashpoint AD200 pro kits from Adorama. I have a few and they are solid.

…Start with a Godox AD200, then step up to an AD300 (batteries are interoperable w/ both models). This flash is the next step after the 300, way more power than most entry-level pro's will need. I use Godox for everything…an 860iii for on-camera, and the 200/300 for off-camera.

Those new one do have a battery issue.
The juice don't last as long when compare to the older version.

Why would you want TTL on a big studio strobe? Shoot manual.
