Honestly these things are worthless. Speaking from experience. You don't get enough yield for the price you pay.

Hmmm, not really sure how fungus grows. Could you maybe chop one of these up and mix it into one or more larger buckets or bags full of sterilized growth medium*, instead of just using the little box full? Or would that seriously damage the current growth and prevent it's blooming rather than just delaying it?

PS. the regular sized box and pink oyster box are on sale too for $11.99. Not as much of a discount, but maybe a better deal for the volume of mushrooms.

*I've read you can use a variety of mediums, like cooked grains, straw, used coffee grounds, etc. Some better than other, or mixed together.
