  • Product offers a reduced price of $14.06 Off or 66.86% Overall Savings
  • Traffic returned in Summer of 1970 with John Barleycorn Must Die, hitting No 5 on the US Billboard Chart and thus making it their highest ever peak position in the US. John Barleycorn would take the band's jazz/rock leanings beyond mere jamming and give Winwood excuse to exercise his expressive voice as punctuation to the extended instrumental sections
  • Remastered from the original tapes, pressed on 180g heavy weight vinyl and artwork caringly overseen and interpreted
  • Offer valid while promotional price/supplies last
Additional Notes
  • Please refer to the forum thread for additional details - Discombobulated

The John Barleycorn reference goes back hundreds of years when alcoholism was already a recognized problem. The poem and songs of John barleycorn must die referred to the desire to burn all of the barley and corn crops used to make the alcohol. John Barleycorn appears several times over the next couple hundred of years including a steinbeck novel and again when Dr. Bob from alcoholics anonymous answered his wifes question of why do you keep drinking by saying " I have a demon inside of me and it's name is John Barleycorn". Dr. Bob went on to be a co-founder of alcoholics anonymous alongside Bill W..

But please don't hold me to this if my facts are wrong.
my favorite traffic album of all time.

What did John Barleycorn do to deserve to die anyway? And what about John Redcorn? At least he's an adulterer.
