The tool guys at my local Lowe's tool rep said they clearing out a lot of Bosch 2024. Base on two recent articles price might drop even more in 2024

I hate slickdeals sometimes, now I have one of these in my garage, thank you?!? lol. I rented a corded hammer drill for a project at my mom's house and it was over $100 with bits, so I figure if/when I need another I'll have one.

It's ok I got it with the 2 free large 8 amp batteries earlier this year for like 160. Worth that just for the 8 amp batteries. It's an ok drill used it on my pool concrete it would jam up when my regular 18v Bosch hammer drill wouldn't

That doesn't make sense.

If it's worse than a hammer drill, why get this SDS?

Time to get something else.

With things like a hammer drill or a worm drive saw, I would always go wired as it sucks a lot of power. If you don't have power available at your project site, I would recommend to get a generator or a big pack like one from EcoFlow (also nice backup if your area experiences power outages).

If I were starting from scratch to build a cordless tool set, and I want to have all from the same brand/series (for interoperability of batteries etc), would Bosch be a good brand to invest in, or would it be better to go for dewalt/milwaukee/ryobi etc?

Bosch tools are great, but I kinda wish I started with Milwaukee. Now I have both. Milwaukee has a larger variety of tools. If you are talking basic common tools, Bosch is fine, and may be a bit cheaper. Check out both lines and see if there are tools that one has and the other doesn't. For example, at least when i bought it, Bosch did not have a soldering iron.
