Awesome Find, this is the better model (not GF A3). Just ordered. Thanks!

I just bought this don't know much about upgrading PC. I bought this deal from Walmart during the holidays and wanted to upgrade the GPU to rtx 4070ti super so figured I need a new power supply.

It sounds like a nice deal, but the poor reviews and mentioned of random computer shutdowns are concerning (see Amazon and Newegg reviews). I was going to get one, but I think I will hold off on doing so after reading a bit on these issues. Power supplies can do funny stuff with and to other hardware.

Probably don't need 1200w, but at this price, why not? Also adds some future-proofing.

I'm also upgrading a BF pre-built, but for a different reason. The included PSU was garbage.

Check the PSU requirements of the GPU make and model that you're buying. It's possible that the 650W unit you already have is sufficient. You could always buy this PSU while on sale and return it if it turns out you don't need it. The 4070 Ti Super will be launched in two days.

A Tier on Cultists, for what it's worth.

All I can say is that you'll see similar reviews on some Corsair PSUs, so take these reviews for what they're worth.

Rule of thumb for me is to see how the reviews are distributed between the 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 stars and read through the 1-star ones to see what the prevailing issues are. And I check 2 or 3 different retailers (Newegg, Micro Center, B&H, Best Buy, Amazon, etc.) if I'm not sure. And I also check the reviews on similar units from high-end, expensive brands like Corsair, Super Flower, etc. to see how they skew between 1-5 stars.

In the end, some luck is involved in getting a well-working unit.

I would never buy a PSU that doesn't orient the connectors like the Corsair RM1000x SHIFT. Absolute gamechanger.

Why in the world is SD still making this expired deal into a front-page "Just For You" recommendation!? It keeps baiting me, and I keep clicking, thinking the deal might be back.

If anyone has a Thermaltake psu, the thing that dumbfounded me is that with their psu's how do they switch out pci-e cables and 8 pin motherboard cables in the same slots.... those cables have different pinouts so it shouldn't be possible
