In the Q&A, someone said this has a clamping voltage of 1200v. I think general consensus is to have a clamping voltage near 300v for important/expensive electronics.

Really, this seems like it would be fine for a lot of low powered/inexpensive things... not sure I'd use it for my phone, TV/sound system or computers.
That's what I thought. Until lightening stuck my neighbor's house across the street and also blew up all the outlets in my garage and the garage door opener thingy.

It's like insurance. You don't need it until you do.

That's horrible might as well be a power strip and not even a surge protector.

I've been using this power strip for a few months. So far no issues except the USB C port doesn't seem to fast charge even though it says it does.

One of the reviewers said that they could only use one USB port at a time but isn't sure if they got a defected piece or it's intended to be like that. Can someone confirm if this is true?
I use all 3 at the same time. No issues.

How often does someone even need a protector? reason I ask I am using these for like 6 years and I've never had a single thing blow

Shit. Never had anything ever blow ever
I'd never seen one blow in decades... Until of course we had a generator installed and they accidentally arc'ed our panel when they turned the power back on. Sitting in my office with an Anker A2762 (older 12 port model with 3 USB A ports) I saw sparks fly. Fortunately, my newly built PC was fine, I think the only thing that was trashed was an off brand USB charger for my iPad. Things that were destroyed: some romex going from panel to some bathroom outlets, and a HVAC control board and 2 blower motors. On the same outlet, I had to replace a Kasa smart strip that led to my 3d printer as well as an auxillary 24v power supply plugged into that strip.

Not saying this is the greatest unit ever, but I will say all those times of buying surge strips paid off.

I have a backup generator turns on every month automatically to test or when power goes out. It's been there like 12 years so I figure it won't blow anything tho it makes a loud pop noise when it does the transferring from house to gen to gen to house when power goes in out

i use one of these under my nightstand, i have plugged into it: an aromatherapy diffuser, an led touch light, pax charger cable/usb c/micro usb in the 3 usb ports, a phone charger with usb c, a vaccum charger, a massage chair, and a wireless subwoofer. the USB C output isn't true fast charging but everything else works good. I've owned it and used it for 6 months with no problems. most of these devices aren't used often except for the chargers.

Ahh yes thx. I cancelled my prime membership last year as I refuse to subsidize their prime video as it sucks and I don't need it. Also won't pay for more and more prime membership fees every other year.

Don't count on this as a surge protector, only 1,200V clamping voltage.

Get one of the better rated protecters for a little more. Something with 330 or so clamping voltage from a brand name. Triplite and APC are pretty good. Some belkin units have the lower number clamping too but you need to check as not all do.
