Man, these things are like computers and flat screen HDTV's in their early days. Every time you wait for something to come down In price, the bigger better ones that were astronomically higher come down to reasonable prices, then you wait for that one to come down some more then happens again with the next bigger better one! I used to be eyeing 2000wh for under $1k for quality known brand, but now I'm waiting for 5000wh to hit not much more than that haha.
Wasn't this 899 at Wellbot?
$854 with military discount makes it compelling

I have a lot to learn when it comes to these. Could someone familiar please provide a couple examples of what can be used with this setup? Would it power an LED TV and a modem/router during an 8-hour power outage?

I have a kill-a-watt which I should us to measure various devices to see how much they draw. Power outages aren't too common here but I'd like to be prepared if we do end up having anything extended.

Best to get some measurements of your actual devices, like you said, since the specific devices and configurations can vary quite a bit, but you could do a rough estimate of ~100w for the TV and 20w for the modem and router. Divide the battery watt hour rating by your usage (2048/120). At that rate you could get up to about 17 hours of use with this. Again, it's best to get some actual measurements from your specific devices or look them up to get more realistic numbers. You could potentially get more or less (probably more). If you're only shooting for ~8 hours of coverage then you'll probably be fine regardless of the TV/modem/router you're running.

How? I thought the coupon at Wellbots was bringing it down to $899. That's why I waited because HD had it for $949 in Jan, and I figured for $50 it's worth being able to return locally if there is a hiccup. $799 would make me bite.
Any info on where it was $799?

Product life cycle indeed
Maybe, but once a setup like this helps keep the heat on through a life-threatening winter power outage once or twice, the sting of the price goes away just like that.

assuming your pump draw 15amp on start up is 1800w so shouldnt be a problem for this battery.

length of time will just vary. assuming it runs at 9amps is 1080w draw 2040wh battery would be about 2hrs.

Meh, you're good. That's just how it is with tech. Technology gets better, prices get cheaper. No matter when you decide to jump in, you will be able to get better for less in the future. It's a never-ending cycle.

I have this. I paid $850 for this set plus a free cover. It's not too bad. Just know what you're getting into.

One design flaw in my opinion Is that the battery must be Connected to the main unit to charge. Would be helpful to be able to charge the battery separately.

I don't know how familiar everyone is with these solar generators. But I wouldn't plan on powering much during an outage. These are nice to have in addition to a generator.

Just for a point of reference, A 1500 watt space heater would drain this device in under an hour and 30 minutes. And that's including using the additional battery. Is pretty much good for low draw items only.
Well, that's good to know about the extra battery! Thanks! That sucks. Not a dealbreaker for me though.

Regarding your comment about the space heater, people definitely need to do the math on these things. They work extremely well for some devices/appliances and not so great for others. By way of example, I can run my refrigerator or pellet stove on a Delta 2 for over a dozen hours. I wouldn't expect the same for any kind of electric heating (space heater, heat pump, water heater, electric dryer). Also worth noting, these won't work with a 240V appliance like a well pump.

Bottom line, these are great for many if not most 120V home appliances/devices, great for camping, and great as a back up to a gas generator. Especially since they charge to almost full in about an hour. So during an extended outage, where gas may be in short supply, you could use your gas generator to charge your solar generator for an hour or so, then shut off your gas generator to conserve gas. Of course, everyone's situation and needs are different. Thus the need to do some homework and basic calculations.

I feel exactly the same about the battery issue. Not happy about it but I can make it work ๐Ÿ‘.

I feel this unit and a real generator compliment each other well. Run the generator on and off during the day. Have the delta 2 to run fridge at night. I have solar panels but charging off the generator is a good idea. Much faster. I have a fireplace and a couple propane heaters for heat.

I would never recommend running a space heater off of a portable power station. Maybe an electric blanket would be okay in a SHTF situation. But normally I would recommend a portable propane space heater like like Mr. Heater Buddy. They can be used indoors with a cracked window and a CO detector, and the green propane tanks are easy to store and have an indefinite shelf life.

Agreed ๐Ÿ’ฏ. Which is why I have a portable and big buddy heaters. Also rely on fireplace for heat in emergency.

I just wanted to discuss powering heaters off this device due to the fact some people may not realize it's just not a realistic possibility with this unit. Would hate to see someone buy this expecting it to cover all their needs in an outage. Only to realize too late it's not even close.

Watch the return policy on these, esp if you're unsure of your final needs. Online generator is 30 days. Ask me how I know (actually, don't. still working on spending the credit). Otherwise, a good buy. Really made me start liking ecoflow products.
