Front Page with +4 (total of 4 votes) and 1 lonely comment? How is this possible?
I wonder if Walmart is giving a kickback on this one (Follow the money)?
It makes me question things on the Front Page.

It may be a good price, but for how often you need to change your trans fluid, and the low cost of OEM fluid in the whole scheme of things, I'll just stick with OEM trans fluid to be safe. It's just not worth the risk of using the wrong fluid and causing grief, unless you're driving something 'disposable'.

This used to be a little over $17/Gal. at Walmart back when Covid hit. It went up to approx $25 and has not come back down yet. So this is a very good price.

There are forums out there that will debate this forever...but this is the ATF that most people want to use if not using OEM.
And I know there is a LOT of nervousness when it comes to changing transmission fluid...

I can only tell me experience and what I have learned from people smarter than me in automotive care.
I do not care what they tell you..no fluid last forever. All fluids wear out. Yeah, Yeah.....I know the spill...ATF is not doing the same work as oil. And ATF still wears out. No fluid last forever. Even your antifreeze needs to be changed eventually...because no fluid last forever.

I personally use this in a Toyota and also a Lexus. To be clear...neither have any transmission problems...but there is a notable difference in shift smoothness once the fluid is changed. The Lexus is in excess of 200K now and I have been doing this for over 100K of that. Seems to me that I would have seen an issue by now if I was hurting it. And it drives like new.

I would never do an entire Transmission Flush. And I would not do a Drain and Fill more than every 30k.
But following these 2 rules seems to work very well.

And I know that some people think if you do not use OEM fluid, the car is going to blow up with a Mushroom Cloud right there in the driveway.
It never made sense to me when I know this is a tighter spec fluid than OEM. And some very experienced mechanics advised that I was correct.

Well said. Something that I notice constantly in DIY transmission drain/fill write ups or videos is people not following the OEM procedure at all. When problems arise, I'm sure those people are quick to blame the ATF that they used instead of their own carelessness. It is absolutely crucial with modern automatic and cvt transmissions without a dipstick to follow OEM procedure that accounts for expansion of fluid with temperature. Using a scan tool or placing vehicle in ATF temp check mode (Toyota feature) is the most foolproof way. When you follow the OEM procedure, the only other variable is the fluid you use. Compare the data sheet of the aftermarket ATF against the OEM fluid specs. Looking at viscosity, flashpoint etc. That is the best way to decide whether the ATF (or any other fluid) is worth using with your specific vehicle and use case, etc.

Dang nice, that's basically buy 2, get 1 free as the normal price is usually $24-25/jug.

Thank You...and I will even add to this...
Do not try to take a shortcut and just put in exactly what drains out. Get the transmission to the correct temp and properly check levels.
It was a used car when I purchased it. And I had all the maintenance records. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the transmission was 1.5qts low of ATF. Had me concerned about a leak...but it has never been low again. So I am guessing somebody just did not put enough fluid in.

Yep exactly this! ATF fluid volume fluctuates significantly with temperature. Different ATFs (manufacturer, used fluid vs fresh, etc) expand/contract at different rates. Matching the volume drained isn't necessarily the correct fluid level.

Missed the deal. Used it before on our Acuras with the 5at Honda transmissions. Did a lot of research on bob the oil guy and other sites. Great reviews. Never had a problem. About 170k on both cars now. On those transmissions, when you do it yourself it's basically a three by three process. It's a pita. 3 quarts out 3 quarts in three times only got about 8.3 to 8.5 quarts out at the end.You got to run the car around and run it through the gears to dilute it. even ran it in reverse for a couple hundred feet. Will probably only do it twice and do 6 quarts on each car. Should be good. It was at the old price as others have said at Walmart nearly 4 years ago. Will use it again.
