I mentioned this in one of the miracle grow threads, these bags are mostly shredded/mulched wood that hasn't been fully composted yet. There was no plastic trash in any of the 10 bags I purchased. I'll try to post a picture of the quality.

Mushrooms means healthy soil tho
This is much better deal than currently $2 Miracle Gro on sale at HD. It is 1.0 cu ft and feds up to 9 months. In comparison, the on-sale Miracle Gro at HD is 0.75 cu ft and feds up to 3 months.

I think so, by far. But I'm in SoCal and from what I've read, the MiraclGro is different in other parts of the country. They say it's not soil but sticks and bark. This stuff was actual soil and bits of small bark.

if anyone can report whether this is actually soil, and not just mulch plus plastic and other trash (like the miracle grow soil), please comment with your data points.

I'm glad this soil went on sale I used this before in the past and my flowers did the best they ever did. So I'm going to get more and I do recommend it.

I've always used this brand and product....tried using the miracle grow potting soil two weeks ago and every single pot and bed was infested with mushrooms...contaminated product and I won't ever use it again. I lost way too much due to the mushrooms and fungusm

We have gotten a raised bed plot from our town. Is there much difference between the soil for raised bed vs in-ground?

this is overkill to put over grass.

go buy a couple bags of topsoil or sand for that.

I wanted to fill in some low areas as well and this might actually be cheaper than the bags of topsoil.

Exactly my thought as well. Top soil is over $2. Might have to add a bit of sand depending on your area, but that's relatively cheap.
