Sure, or turn it upside down and call it a boat. The only limit is your imagination.
Some ideas for mounting this over grass

People bury cinderblocks in the ground and then bolt onto the cinderblock to act as an earth anchor if you have an over slab, it's easy I have 16 giant concrete anchors holding mine down. It ain't going anywhere.
The surface area of the roof is like a big sail. It needs to be firmly anchored and completely level to prevent it from becoming a huge projectile during a storm. Even then, a decent storm can rip them from wooden decks and have killed people. A concrete slab is probably the best option.

Thoughts on how sturdy the ground under this needs to be? Would it be feasible to just plop this down on somewhat a somewhat uneven lawn, or does it need a nice, flat pavement base?

If it's not on level ground it won't be stable. Also it needs to be anchored.

Ok, but just the four feet need to be level, though, right? I'd be fine with digging spots for them to sit & backfilling with some tamped down rocks and sand. Also, thoughts on if it needs to be, like, bubble-level level or just level as in it would be fine with being on a few degree grade so long as front/back are even?

How do you know if this can be installed on a wooden deck?

I got the following about a year ago, but it is much heavier and has withstood 48mph so far. I'm not sure about the Maximum Wind Resistance in this deal

It'll be spendy and time consuming to convert it into a shed. You'll need better framing so when the wind hits your wall, it won't go flying into the neighbor's yard. This gazebo is designed to allow the wind blow through.

Prebuilt sheds have all the right pieces and still cost less.

Sure, but you won't be able to keep the kids "off the shed".

I bought this one as well when it was on SD...I really like it. Crazy how much it went up in price. I'd buy another in a heart beat if it went down in price again.
