Considering ASUS puts 120Hz 3K OLED panels in many of their much cheaper laptops, it's puzzling why, in a $1500 laptop with a "PRO" moniker, comes with a 1080p 60Hz panel. Weird choice. This is a deal killer.

This is a Q543. I have a Q540 (last gen model) with very similar specs but with a 3K 120Hz OLED screen which was as low as $850 ($518 open box) so this Q543 has some room to go even lower.

So i bought this the last time it was on sale. For the price its a pretty great laptop. I do professional photography and video editing. And its my portable machine and for the past 3 weeks was my only editing machine. I did spend an extra 100 to add in 32 GB of ram into the open slot for a total of 40 GB of ram. But does still also have an extra NMVE slot to add more storage when i need to.

As far as the screen, I was at first not wanting to get it because of it only being 1080p, but after using it, the screen looks great. I honestly prefer it to my 4k 28 inch and 2k 32 inch on my desktop. Its plenty sharp and at 15 inches on a laptop, it is "retina" level at normal use distance. I much prefer the battery savings of a 1080p screen than a higher res that I can't see.

But easily runs multiple external screens, and never had an issue since I got it. Happy to answer any direct questions about it.

It's not "retina" level at any distance. Of course you are referring to Apple displays using that terminology. This laptop is 1080p at 15.6" FHD

Let's be clear on that. shake head

Some say they run hot. Others say it's just the desktop ones with the issue.

1080p feels really good on the 15.6, I'll take the lower res better battery life any day of the week.

It's a crime on a $1500 laptop. I'll take a 3K OLED 120Hz with less battery life and carry an inexpensive power bank with me to fully recharge the laptop should I find myself away from power for more than 4-5 hours.
