Brand doesn't really matter. You have to decide on application:

1. Inside vs outside
2. Clear vs tinted
3. Paintable vs unpaintable
4. Durability (how long to last)

Answer those four questions and step into your local store go ask a pro, and pick it up. As others have noted 100% silicone you cannot paint, so that is one of those parameters. Durability is crap but you can gauge that 15 vs 40 year, the 40 year may last a few years longer but these ratings are like tools -- highly inflated and in some lab conditions made up by the industry itself.

Also caulk is a timely buy, you go and get it fresh as possible, so trying to save $1 unless you need it now and it meets your requirements will be an issue if it sits for 2 years trying to find a specific use for it.
Don't forget it's not paintable since it's 100% Silicone, just an fyi. I've been using Big Stretch for paintable caulk. Expensive but the best I've found.

Clear is also available to me with the same coupon and price. May have to look under other sellers to see the coupon.

Good find.
Was hoping their "paintable" sealant was on sale as well (need to caulk a light fixture to brick), but it looks like that product is no longer available...

The 100% silicone white and clear are the only caulks offered by Gorilla at this time.

Where are you seeing a silicone sealant for $3.00? The cheapest I've seen is a small squeeze tube of siliconized acrylic sealant. This is a good price.

You can use representative colored sand while it is still tacky (with brick) instead of painting it and the texture will transition better than painting IMHO. For vinyl you can use colored powder, but I don't normally bother.

I was impressed with the white Gorilla around the tub since I haven't gotten black mold again. But the clear version for the faucet quickly fell apart. I removed all the clear and used GE silicone II instead. The negative part is I get black mold on the GE. So still on the lookout for something better.

Appreciate the tip but I have no intention to paint it; I had paintable in quotes as that's how it's advertised, but was just pointing out the differences in supported material (the "paintable" product can be used on brick, these 100% silicone products cannot, per the manufacturer)

Most silicones are good 6 months~.
They go bad fast, so 12 months and may good, maybe dried bad.

Depends on width, length, and whether it's continuously submerged.

Most sealants not designed for water contact will be fail.

There's aquarium sealants, which typically go on glass, so you'll need to try to see if it sticks you tanks. Definitely waterproof if it sticks.

And there's epoxy for marine use (jb weld has one).

Is this good for the seal around the base of the toilet or are we supposed to use a different product for that?
