Do you realize what percent of consumer drives sold today are QLC? I don't care for QLC but let's not spread misinformation.

Most consumers will not come anywhere near the lifetime limit of this drive in a decade of normal use.
We all go through it, just gotta manage expectations. I remember thinking
"Ugh, MLC?"
"I'm not trusting my important data with TLC!"
"No DRAM, no dram way!"
"QLC is for poor people"

It's fine to use as a gaming drive. QLC only affects writing life and gaming drive doesn't do a ton of writes since the use case for a gaming drive are installations, updates, and saving.

Isn't less reliable though? Like will this die on me in less than a year? Lol. Also how about the speed ?

Yes, bite. I just bought the 1tb for $85 on a recently previous deal and I'm kicking myself. It's through corsair directly and don't want to deal with returns. 1TB is plenty for me though. FOMO got the better of me.

If you care for TLC or QLC, this is worth the price for QLC. TLC wouldn't be bad, but some people just like the peace of mind. I'm in that category.

Additionally, steam deck only has PCIe gen3, so you'll never reach the top speeds.

Yeah, I have a MLC based SATA drive in my file server. Even with it being the main OS drive and handling Plex with lots of reads and writes, I'm like 20TB into the 1200TBW metric after 3 years of use. Mainly I won't buy anything QLC due to wanting top performance, and I don't buy PCIe5 drives because they break the bank and need (relatively speaking) big coolers.

This or MP44S for $6 more? This seems to have better battery life in this test by nearly 10% (https://www.tomshardware.com/best...steam-deck)

Mp44s does have TLC instead of QLC though...

Why is the write speed on this so slow compared to the read? Doesn't seem like this price is all that slick to me.

in 4 1.

Combined with Amex MR offer (mine is $100 - $15) it's $115, matching historical low for 2230 2TB in 2023.
