Doyle does not do a 6" - they start at 8". The closest Doyle equivalent, part # 56747, is $17.99 and has vinyl dipped handles instead of rubber clad. It also has fewer adjustment points. Doyle is a perfectly good product, and you can often find these pliers close to $10. But make sure you are comparing apples and apples when complaining.

Project Farm tested 10" slip joint pliers and Knipex blew the field away while the Irwins were pretty mediocre. I'd guess that results for these little 6" ones would be similar.

Vise Grip is a brand name owned by Irwin who is owned by Stanley Black&Decker. It is not a style of pliers, just a brand of pliers which now pales in comparison to the quality of the old-school US made ones before the conglomerate take-overs.

I have these as well as all the sizes of knipex cobras in comfort grip. The knipex are worlds better. For Irwin tools these feel and perform more on the low end even compared to other irwin tools like locking pliers, linesman pliers, scroll saw etc.

I have a pair of these and Knipex that I use around the house. I actually prefer the Irwin. Of course the Knipex is the higher end tool, but the irwin beats it with comfortability, adjust button profile, and jaw opening width. For 10 bucks, this is a no-brainer, especially for around the house.
