Tons of people have done this, kind of surprising HD hasn't updated their tech/policies to cut it off.

or arrange pickup in two different places (or just one place, if the item you don't want is not available there right now). i think it's possible to cancel the unwanted item thru the app, for some time after the order is placed.

HD clearly doesn't want to cut it off. They don't pay for the free tools. If you consider this to be a hack, it is HD that is 'hacking' the tool manufacturers and then rolling that over to the consumer.

Thank you. It worked great. I placed the order and immediately cancelled the battery. The tool kit became $98.

Didn't let me cancel each individual item trough the website. Will attempt to retun one in store.

Yes but it's probably too much tool for even that. The m12 system would probably be better for you but not sure if it can be had for this price.

Yes, these are excellent high quality tools. As the other poster said, the M12 system may be more suitable. Smaller and lighter. Here's a current deal for those:

https://slickdeals.net/f/17830953-m12-fuel-12-volt-lithium-ion-brushless-cordless-hammer-drill-and-i...

That one on the M12 is a hammer drill, which makes it easier to drill into hard materials. The drill does the work rather than your own force and weight. These are excellent tools. Good luck

Don't see the battery as a separate item in the order history to cancel
