Apple MacBook Pro (Late 2024): 14.2", M4, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD $1599

Apple is so damn weird with their naming conventions to try and sucker us. Don't be fooled people. Apple calls this a MacBook Pro but the chip is NOT pro. Hence its not really a Macbook Pro. SMH at Apple. Tim, fix this mess!

Yeah, the only thing "Pro" about it is the larger form factor. It's kind of like my Maverick truck where it's shaped like a pickup truck, but can't tow anything.

And it's just as fat as a real Macbook Pro with pretty much same performance as Macbook Air.

You have the upgraded screen res and the ability to use more than 1 external monitor. If you don't need that cpu power it's actually a benefit to not have a pro chip as you get much longer battery life. I understand where you are coming from, no doubt, but for some, including myself, this "pro-lite" is ideal

I'd suggest to go for 24GB M4 pro for 1799. Since it has thunderbolt 5 you can similar speeds with external SSDs and better long usability. This is a not good deal imo

I agree to this comment, pro has more performance cores and memory. As Apple intelligence improves, more memory and computing power is required.

I know many would argue that 98% people don't need M4 pro blah blah. I am just saying that staying at base processor and paying extra for just storage is not a Good deal.

Apple stores do price match till 10% and they do trade in with best possible value…Amazon doesn't do much trade in case you need…just giving information that could be useful
