220 nits. CPU a little slow and 2022. AMD 610 iGPU. I like Lenovo stuff but Nits kills it for me.
He won't and can't πŸ˜‚. For under $300 it's good but personality I'd go for the $249 Lenovo at BB though it's got the i3-1215u which is slightly better than the older Ryzen 5 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/...source=PDP

just pop a 8GB stick for $10 and for $260 you'll have a 300nit IPS touchscreen and much better screen.

Damn, really nice price for the specs. Bought a think pad 2.5 years ago holding up just fine for a streaming machine. And no issues with brightness

I think outside of the reportedly dim screen and non usb-c charging which I dont think you can usually find in this price range, this is an amazing deal for what you're getting for a good browsing device. Seems like a better deal than the lenovo office depot deal from yesterday that sold out. In for 2 for christmas gifts!

You can also checkout with paypal for an extra 5% off if you have Chase Freedom Flex.

No. Just no.

TN display and a weak CPU. This laptop was $200 in 2023.

EDIT: Sorry, I meant to say $300.

Seems like a decent deal for mom/grandma... If you are looking for another option that is slightly more expensive but definitely has a little more bang for your buck, you can consider this if it's still available (seeing some say that they are getting an out of stock notice - I purchased yday so IDK.)

Can you please link where this laptop was $200 in 2023? Or if you could link any current deal around $280 for a 15' laptop with a mid tier CPU, 16gb ram and an SSD. I'm happy to return this and swap out if there's a better deal. Thanks!

Thanks! Would you be so kind as to link to the correct RAM? Appreciate it.

Thanks for posting this OP Smilie

Not intended to be a criticism especially at this price Smilie but.. in the questions and answers section the manufacturer mentions there's only one m2 drive slot available which is filled already with the 256 GB drive. Just thought it would be worth mentioning for anyone hoping to upgrade the drive (you'd need to have say a usb m2 drive reader attached and use something like say macrium reflect or AOEMI to copy Windows over to the new drive first.)

The CPU and iGPU is garbage, even for this price range. It's a "2022" CPU but its based off 2019 Zen 2 cores, so its not really new just old designs repurposed. The 2CU iGPU is straight up bad, like barely functional bad, and im not even talking about gaming. Even Intel iGPUs on older budget CPUs are better.

The current deals for 12th gen i3 based laptops at bestbuy, staples, etc are way better.

My bad, I thought I typed $300. It's the same price as a year ago though.

Sadly, there are no real laptop deals below $400. I personally would buy a decent gaming laptop for ~$450 with a MUCH stronger CPU and just use it for twice as long. It would always be a better PC through its lifespan.

I'd buy this for $470 if I were in the market. Yes it is higher. There's no new low-end market.

RAM is easy to upgrade.

Or this for $446 for a laptop that will pretty much always seem premium in every way: https://slickdeals.net/f/17938875-lenovo-ideapad-slim-5-16-fhd-ips-touch-ryzen-5-8645hs-16gb-lpddr5-512gb-ssd-445-99?v=1&src=SiteSearch

But if you've got $300 burning a hole in your pocket and can't wait and stretch it to $450...you could get the laptop on this thread. I wouldn't. I'd find an i5 or proper Ryzen 5 for 3 hundred and something.

This is exactly my point. There's no scenario where this laptop is the correct purchase.

Umm that was the point. Most the rest are tolerable barely at the price point, so. There's lots not to like but the low nits …is just too much to ignore for ME.

But I mean take want you want from a post and turn it into whatever suits you, I guess 🀷 ♂️

Did you see from somewhere that there's another free RAM slot? The 8GB on it is soldered according to Lenovo's site.

Edit: NVM. I found it.

Thats the one i got aswell, simply just go to the store and check the screen, didnt notice much difference to the other ideapads but was surprised it has a ips300nits display. Although thats just stats, some displays of the costlier notebooks look much better. But have to say I like the ideapads so far, keyboard is solid. I don't understand why people want more than 8GB for these basic jobs, if you edit or game you don't chose a $250 laptop.
