It's just a favorable type of variable input joystick that doesn't suffer drift. While having a near zero dead space around center position. So even the slightest push will result in the desired input.

The Hall Effect sticks in the 8bitdo will almost never get stick drift, although it's still possible, but they will be much more reliable long term. If you like the PS style controller I would go 8bitdo. Another bonus is that most PC games default to XBOX button markings, so there's less confusion when the game tells you to press "A, B, X, or Y" and you look down to find "X, Square, Triangle, Circle."

Using wired, is straight forward if you follow the instructions. Wireless may take an additional step but works.
