I feel like at this price, it should be 3840x1440p. 3840x1080 is basically two 1920x1080 monitors. No specs on the panel, so I'm going to assume it's a VA.

At $300 this would be a warm deal.

$300 is a "warm deal" for a 49" curved monitor????

I'd love for you to link to a similar "warm deal" in this size. Heck, show us a HOT DEAL for comparison...

49" curved = 2x 24" 1080p curved monitors. Nothing breathtaking really, once you break it down. Like, if you already have 2 1080p monitors, this would be a marginal upgrade.

Onn brand = Walmart brand, which is to say it's a generic brand. No one really knows what quality Onn will bring to the table.

I already know the fate of these monitors. Basically Walmart employee freebies once they go on clearance early next year lol

Maybe closer to two 27" 1080p's. 43" ultrawide is closer to two 24"

IMO, 1080p looks pixelated for productivity work on a 27" widescreen monitor (or a 34" UW monitor)

A 27" Widescreen monitor in FHD (1920x1080p) uses 1080p for 13.2" height
A 34" Ultra-wide monitor in FHD (1920x1080p) uses 1080p for 13.1" height
A 32" Widescreen monitor in FHD (1920x1080p) uses 1080p for 15.7" height
This 49" monitor doing 3840 x 1080p, uses 1080p for 13.3" height

The resolution is marginally worse than a 27" FHD monitor, and is almost the same as arranging 2 x 27" FHD monitor side-by-side. Thankfully, not as worse as the resolution would be on a FHD 32".

If you don't mind the lack of curvature and the borders with 2 x 27" monitors next to each other in Horizontal orientation, then maybe you could find something better with that setup? The advantage with this one though is ergonomically, you could work with your main content in the center of the screen whereas with a 2 x 27" setup, depending on the arrangement, you may be looking to either the left or the right.

This is equivalent to 2x 27" 1080p monitors side by side. DPI isn't great. The Acer 34" 3440x1440 that has been posted ($156 refurb from Acer on eBay, $190 new from Costco) has more pixels and is a better deal for the majority of people in terms of gaming and productivity. This could be considered for someone who likes racing games or flight sims but doesn't have a great GPU. If you can spend more, I think the 49" DQHD Samsung deals were better. OLED + high end 2TB SSD for $800 or miniLED + 24" 1080p monitor for $650.

Not sure "equivalent" is the right word unless you are just counting pixels and square inches.

For productivity most people are much better off with two seperate monitors (or 3), but for immersion in gaming there is nothing like a single curved screen taking up your entire visual space. Might as well say an iPhone 3" from your face is "equivalent" to a equal resolution large TV because they are both occupying the same % of your sight and are technically displaying the same information. There is a reason these things didn't catch on [media-amazon.com]

Amen, doubt most of the Onn crowd has a top of the line gaming PC

I was at Best Buy the other day and they had a floor model that was a BEAST. I stood there several minutes just enjoying the demo video.

I think 5120x1440 is the resolution you are describing.

Anyone able to verify the panel? At DCI-P3 90% this is most likely a terrible IPS panel, though it is entirely possible that this could be VA (which tend to max out around 95%, but that's usually for the "good" ones).

Good luck!
