Don't get fooled by the name "bass" as it works on guitar too. It has the auto-return (switchless) feature that the 535Q doesn't offer (only on one of its mini versions). I bought it to use as a guitar pedal.

i wanted to love this one. i really did. but i did not bond with the auto-return immediately. it was hard to do really subtle sweeps, you have to depress the treadle a little bit before the wah effect engages. and you can't do any cocked-wah stuff because the treadle auto-returns. don't get me wrong, i love the sound of it, but the usability is lacking (for me, at least).

I think those are all really valid points, and I don't have the non-returning version to try, but I like mine a lot. I like that it's sitting there ready to go, and I just step off, and I'm immediately back to clean tone. It would be incredible if the return function could be turned off or on.

I play bass, and I've got other auto filter pedals, so the idea of a cocked-wah turn might be redundant for me. I've also used it with synthesizers.

Any thoughts on using this to pull off, say, "For Whom the Bell Tolls"?
