I bought it. I use it mainly for web browsing, streaming, light Python coding, light photo editing. Nothing too crazy for multi core performance.

I am so far very happy with it. I value screen quality, battery life and portability. It replaces my 15in LG gram. I don't have performance concern with my use case.

Pros:
I am impressed with the screen quality, I like it more than the screen on my wife's 15in MacBook Air.

The other thing I like is the battery life. This is the first time I experience Apple laptop battery life on a Windows machine.

Built quality is better than expected. Not thinkpad X or P series quality but exceed my expectation for its $650 price tag. It doesn't feel cheap at all.

Cons:
Not much yet.

It attracts fingerprints easily.
It is just nitpicking. I wish one of the USB type A ports is on the left hand side.

Did anyone who bought this last time it was on sale have an opinion on it? How good is the battery life, trackpad, screen resolution, etc?

Anyone looking to game on this laptop, it has the slower version of the GPU. It uses the 130V which has 7 CU vs 140V which has 8CU.

I've had it from the first time it went on sale before Thanksgiving. So far I still really like it, coming from an old Surface Book. Battery life has been excellent for me and as advertised basically lasting forever and the main selling point of these Lunar Lake CPUs.
Screen resolution is ok at 1900x1200 but not awful since it's a 14 inch screen, I like the 16:10 aspect ratio but obviously not as crisp as a higher res and more expensive laptop. But the OLED screen is certainly nice. Albeit just 60hz. I think if resolution and refresh rate are a big deal, or touchscreen, those are the things that stand out to me as slightly lacking.
Trackpad is fine. My primary input (I don't use a mouse with it or anything) and it works fine, no issues here with sensitivity or any missed clicks or anything.
Overall I think it's a very good laptop at this price point, with other laptops in this range having older generation CPUs, non-OLED screens, or bigger and bulkier.

If you don't mind the screen size, you won't be disappointed by OLED screen when watch movie, compare to regular VA or IPS panel.

Thanks for the review. How is the fan noise? Looking for a laptop that's pretty quiet.

For my usage, I haven't noticed fan noise yet. It is in winter though. From the review I saw, lunar lake cpu has pretty good heat performance.

Yeah, I don't hear the fan at all even with some light gaming. I even switched the fan profile to Performance and it's inaudible.

Is the screen yellowish-tinged? I went to Best Buy to compare laptops and these ASUS OLEDs all seemed yellow/orange-ish compared to the screens around them.

How are the speakers--any bass? The mid-range and up Lenovos have good rich full sound with bass these days (by laptop standards anyway), hoping to match that level

PSA

I have an older version of this ASUS OLED laptop used from BB.

Strongly advise if you order one to deliver to store and turn it on before you pay for it.
Go into the BIOS and run a battery health check and look for signs of screen burn on the gray bios screen.

I went through three of these OLED laptops before I found one without screen burn or battery fault. Some that have been display models are flagged as excellent condition? They are not.

Once I finally got one in good condition, I have been very very happy with it. The OLED screen is amazing. The battery life is great and it has been very reliable. This is for the 12th gen Intel version that's 2-3 years old.

thanks for posting this OP Smilie

Not a complaint especially at this price ! .. but for those who care it looks like it only has the one hard drive slot (like a lot of laptops do mind you) not two

https://www.asus.com/us/laptops/f.../techspec/

Not sure if ram is upgradeable though I'm sure 16 GB will be just fine for the uses other people have commented on here Smilie
