I bought this a month ago because I wanted a higher resolution than the 2k on the G16. This is a fantastic machine. I really wish they had dropped it to 3k with 120hz, but I use this laptop for software development so the faster refresh would just be to make scrolling and other things look snazzy.

How warm does it get. I want to get it for light gaming but really will probably just be for Netflix or Amazon browsing on the couch lol

Huh, this actually looks like it would make a great portable Solidworks machine. I've been looking for that.

I have the rtx 4060 in my 18" Acer Helios. It's more than good enough for 1080p gaming but nothing higher than that. I work from home so use this during my downtime for gaming (elden ring, COD, Blops6 and Stalker).

But if u want future proof, get the 4070 variant ...it also comes with more memory which is what next gen games utilize now. Open box is around $1700 (excellent condition).

If u dont have the urgent need for a laptop right now, wait out 2025 CES as it's around the corner and 2025 will bring a new gen of gfx cards (and longer battery).

I'm keeping an eye out for the ROG Zephyrus with the 4070 to drop hopefully by feb next year. I got 3 long flight vacations planned next year so looking for a 16" laptop that will play Avowed and such RPG's on a longish 6-8 hr plane flight on battery.

4060 and 4070 laptops both have 8 GB VRAM. 4080 has 12 GB.
