Down from $449, though? Is that an overhyped price? Was going to go for it, but if this is the regular range it goes for, then I'll keep looking.
I bought the one in this deal a few weeks ago which was $199, so I'm rebuying as this saves me $40 plus the I have a 20% cashback offer with CapOne so this post is saving me about $85.
Vacuum is solid if you want an upright with the versatility to convert to a canister style. I vacuumed with my old Dyson DC33 and then vacuumed with this afterwards and it picked up alot of dust, so it does a very good job.
A few notes:
- The vacuum will sort of run away from you on carpet when using because the rollers are powerful
- It's pretty heavy
- It isn't the most stable and I could see it tipping over

Thanks for that info. I was going to buy this for elderly parents and the thought of the vacuum dragging them across the floor made me laugh, just a bit, but obviously is a bit concerning.
For elderly parents, I'm wondering if maybe a cordless would be well suited for them. The main complaint from people I know that own them (including the expensive Dyson ones) is that the batteries lose alot of their capacity within about 2 years. My SIL has a v10 Dyson and says she only gets about 3 minutes of run time on high suction and it's only about 2 years old.

they wear away, ive had to replace mine in a year and a half on short carpet because it has completely worn away. The front roller also is not really meant to be maintained, only replaced. These are disposable heads, account for that in your total cost. it's not just filters you need to replace now.
