Some of the maps aren't great for solo playing, but overall it's fun. I've 5 skulled most of the maps on the Rift Lord difficulty. To maximize the number of skulls you get to upgrade/unlock all the equipment, my recommendation is that you 5 star all the maps on Apprentice difficulty first, then move on the War Mage difficulty, and then finally the Rift Lord difficulty.
