Almost comparable to the u7/u9 crazy deal from earlier this week. Slower CPU and smaller hard drive but faster refresh rate. Not OLED.

Agreed, at least it's upgradeable. Wish it had a touch screen

Why do you think the CPU is slow? It looks fine to me. This is a great budget laptop. 8gb of ram is one of the easier upgrades you could do. So that's a non issue. Here is how passmark grades this CPU

All orders from this deals was cancelled. Only open box purchases were honored.
We have started seeing laptops with the Intel Core Ultra CPUs at prices around $500.
At this point I wouldn't buy a laptop with an Intel CPU before the Core Ultra series unless I needed a very high performance CPU in a laptop, and even then I would look at AMD 78XX or 88XX instead of the Intel 13XXX CPUs.
Intel made some pretty big changes for the better with the Core Ultra CPU architecture and I think most people will benefit from better battery life and improved onboard graphics of the Core Ultra line (Meteor Lake) vs the higher CPU power and energy usage of the older Intel CPUs.
I would personally hold out for a Core Ultra 2XX (Lunar Lake) CPU in a laptop. We have seen some in the $750-$900 range recently and those CPUs are supposed to be capable of macbook air like battery life and performance.
