It's just an ok deal I mean it's just $5 off. I'd rather pay $5-$10 more and get a teamgroup or something on Amazon. Either way it should be fine for a PS4.

If i wanted just any cheap drive that can boot windows an maybe add a few sound editing softwares/drivers etc. Is there a drive or place I can get one for a couple bucks? Ssd is cool an helps. But isn't really a nessecity if I can save significantly.

How important is your data to you? That's the question you ask yourself when your wondering if dram is important or not.

Also how important is ssd speeds to you? Without dram it will be very easy for this drive to get throttled slower than your average mechanical drive if it gets enough data written on it at a time.
DRAM itself won't have a huge impact on reliability. However, you're right that DRAM-less drives can slow down to speeds less than most hard drives, when it comes to large sequential writes. For the average person, that's not usually a big issue. DRAM-less drives are often adequate for light use.

Usually when going total ****** you need to post an active link to the 1TB deal that shows how lousy this one is. If not... maybe make a New Year's resolution? Of course, in your case, it would also have to be a top tier with DRAM cache. I think we all want to see the link.

You need to work on your reading comprehension there, buckaroo
Not once did I mention Dram.
I was mocking you for claiming $4 off as an "Insane deal"
I got a $5 off coupon for a KFC Family meal that will blow your mind, dude. Absolutely bonkers deal.

This is a decent deal. I was thinking about getting something like this for some backups that don't need to be very fast and don't need DRAM. I don't use HDDs at all anymore because I don't need high TB in a single drive and I prefer the reliability of SSD for small backups.
