For this particular board, the knob can't be reprogrammed, which is a huge drawback.
That said, it's going to be hard to find another reputable brand that has Bluetooth and hot-swappable keyboards at this price. Additionally, the stock switches seem to be liked from what I've read on Reddit. I haven't used these flamingo switches myself. So, if you're interested in jumping into the rabbit hole, this is a good place to start for this price.
Thought it was a dud at first but got a replacement from Amazon and was same thing.

One of my personal favorite keyboards is actually another EPOMAKER board, it's a 75% board in a metal frame that they put on sale for $70, so if you aren't set on this one it's worth waiting around and seeing what else comes up.
Which board are you referring to?
Check out their subreddit before purchasing. Reddit banned them for a reason. I had two nightmare experiences with them. Their products randomly miss hotkeys or erase them. Some if them don't have any kml files. No support. For some of their products it's some shady exe file stored on some random person's Google drive. Reddit banned them because of all the complaints of being swindled.
SD knows this and continues to promote their product. Why?

As for how products gets to the front page, there are many factors, most popular being the community voting whether they like the deal or not. I'm not a Deal Editor and just a mod but that's how I understood it.

Because they are quite a bit better than the average Corsair, Logitech, or Deco Gear posted here. Certainly not "enthusiast tier" but what is that isn't pushing $100? One of the best value boards are made by Epomaker and Aula in the F75. Their software can be downloaded from the links for the keyboard listings on their website but it isn't amazing.
They have customer service. You need to contact them over email and explain the issue you had (which you have not explained here) and they will try and resolve it.
Again being banned from Reddit is a joke and not a valid complaint. There are power hungry mods who ban you for differing opinions and can get your account shut down for nothing (like the current scum Epomaker mod right now).
I have previously fought with SD mods regarding a rude poster but I would take them deleting comments hand over fist compared to the BS reddit pulls.
Personally I don't think they deserve the bad rep. Are they worse than competing brands? Sure, but those brands don't offer $40 entry-level mechanical boards from Amazon. They have QMK/VIA boards but you have to search a bit. The main issue I have is that my board takes a couple seconds to wake from sleep and may register the pressed key multiple times until another is pressed.
As for this board I'd agree it's not the best. No function row but you have an extended width so it's only good if you fit that niche. The knob not working on volume like their other offerings also makes this meh compared to their other boards.

I've been using an EP84 plus with Mulan switches at work for months and have had no issues with switches not working.

That's absolutely insane. I don't even want one and I still want to buy it at that price. You should post that as a deal.

The customer service is definitely garbage compared to the Corsair or Logitech, and it isn't even close.
If customer service or quality is a criteria, I absolutely disagree that they're better than the average Corsair or Logitech.
What they do offer instead is decent value for the features you can get - but it comes at the cost of quality and customer service.
If one can't afford to get better, it might be worth the gamble - but if you don't have special requirements (layouts), it might be better to wait for a Logitech or Corsair (or Drop - Corsair bought Drop, lol) keyboard to go on sale.

Well the customer service issue isn't one and done. I have two boards from them with no issues and have been using them for 6 months now. I don't feel like any issues are going to happen at least in the foreseeable future, and if they do I will comment on that here.
Logitech still sells boards with key caps that fade easily, are not hot-swappable, use a micro-USB port, and etc. In 2024 with all these good options those are dealbreakers. I know the older audience here thinks they still have the quality of old but they have changed... Just look at their mice double clicking and scroll wheel issues. I understand if you mean other enthusiast brands offer support and quality, but not these big brands with little innovation, high prices, and old standards.
Any person who wants a nice typing sound and feel will go for a custom style board, and someone who wants gaming features will go for one with hall effect. Unfortunately, most people here aren't enthusiasts so they don't know about either of those superior options and just go with what has worked in the past.
Logitech's quality is so poor the service needs to be good since you will have to contact them if your board gets chatter or fading key caps. Again customer service is only criteria IF you have an issue which is much less likely since other brands use better components. Chatter and keycaps fading cannot happen on these (or any other good board) since you can swap the faulty switch and keycap set.
Don't get me started with Reddit and real life reports on Corsair mice and (to a lesser extent) keyboards... they are far worse than Logitech. Epomaker is more of a rebranding/reseller company. If you want their best just go with Aula's F75 which is a best seller and has stellar reviews on Amazon. As someone mentioned above they are offering probably the best deal I've seen on here for a good quality wireless TKL board. I think $20 is worth a "gamble"...

I kind of want to highlight how shilly this post is, lol. It is hilarious that Epomaker's customer service is expressed so positively (despite many others who have not), but Corsair and Logitech is expressed so negatively.
It's cheap. It's a gamble. I'm not saying that one shouldn't buy this, but as others are doing, cautioning that the low price comes at the expense of other things. We're on slickdeals - we want nice things for cheap prices. Cheap products for cheap prices is not slick - it's okay. Otherwise, half the listings here would be Temu garbage.

Not a shill post like you seem to think. Just picked up a few and had no issues. I received an open box one from Amazon and they gave me the original one I ordered for free. Sure they shouldn't have sent the wrong one but they also didn't have to give it to me without me returning it.
I'm not sure you read what I wrote. It's not that big brands' service is bad, it's that the KEYBOARDS are low quality meaning you are much likely to contact their support. They aren't bad, but they also aren't the best option for anyone right now.
Just because something is cheap does not make it a "gamble". If that was the case everyone would think buying thermalright fans is a gamble. I'm getting the feeling that you are not an enthusiast, and that is OK.
No wireless mechanical board is a cheap product, and Epomaker makes some decent boards. I suggest you look up YouTube reviews of their recent boards, like the P75, instead of just reading reviews on one of their crappy products (RT100).
The quality on their boards varies since they take from various suppliers, you just need to look up reviews for this specific one. Leobog, Feker, and Aula are all good brands that they have partnered with. I'm not saying they don't make bad boards, it's just that it's like Amazon, when you sell from all these brands you inevitably get cheap junk in the mix and some really good stuff too.
I personally wouldn't buy this since the knob is not really usable, but if you don't care for that or a function row and prefer the layout it's not bad for the price. If I had one area to say they lack compared to competitors it would be software, but some of their newer ones come with QMK/VIA. I 100% support buying only from Amazon for saftey and returning and leaving a 1 star review if you have any issues. Epomaker isn't free from criticism but they aren't as bad as they used to be.
If you think we don't get Temu-quality stuff on here you must not see the cables or other cheap stuff that is actually shilled here. I've used cheap stuff from Ajazz (AK820 Pro is good) and other cheaper Ali brands, that is in a different tier than this.
