Out of curiosity, what do you find superior about the gel capsules? Better absorption, or just that they are more pleasant to take?

Considering that this is a 7+ month supply, personally I appreciate the longer shelf life of the tablet version. Since, I take them with food, the taste is not really a factor.

If we were talking about some large doses, like fish oil, I'd be all about gel capsules, but these D3 tablets are pretty small.

Thanks OP!

Just a note: those who are insufficient and especially deficient should be taking more than 2,000iu - in which case 7months supply is accurate

For those deficient or insufficient, a 5,000iu is desirable.

Otherwise, I've seen no difference in vitamin D supplements, whether they are in pill or gel format. From personal experience anyway.

Easier too take and soft gel don't look like the other 2 pills that I take that are small and white. My 90 soft gel ones I got in Dec are good until July 2027

Also I looked it up.
Soft gel and tablet vitamin D supplements have similar effectiveness, but soft gels may be more comfortable to swallow and better mask the taste. Soft gels may also be absorbed more quickly than tablets:

Swallowing
Soft gels are often oval-shaped and smoother than tablets, which can make them easier to swallow.

Taste
Soft gels can mask the taste of vitamin D better than tablets.
Absorption

Liquid ingredients in soft gels are absorbed more quickly than tablets because they don't have to break down in the stomach. This can be especially helpful for people with digestive issues.

Bioavailability
The liquid or semi-solid contents of soft gels can improve the bioavailability of the active ingredient.
