Is this a possible addition to the Yamaha 1090 stand alone sound bar? It has a sub out option just didn't know if the bar could handle it.
Yes, I just paired it with the 1090 using the wireless receiver without issues. Using it as my pc speaker via optical cable and it's a clear improvement over the cheap 2.1 speakers it replaced. But the sub is borderline too much (for my townhome)...had to reduce gain down to like 3. Also, the soundbar is a little muddy even after tinkering with EQ settings.
But since I'm not an audiophile and it'll just be used for mostly youtube/movies, I plan to keep this setup. Overall decent sub for a really great price.

Could you recommend a good sub for the 1090? It's for my father in law. He doesn't need much but I'd like to get him something. For reference he thinks the TV speakers are fine. Lol. This bar is about to blow his mind as minimal as it is. Thank you.

If it's at that level, honestly any subwoofer is going to be good enough for him. If you want to go wireless, this option is a good option from Costco at full price. You can also find the wired version locally used for very cheap. They have amps built in so you just need to connect the subwoofer to the soundbar or receiver.

Holy hell. I didn't realize this was wireless. Can I hook this up to my Vizio m512a-h6?
