The version with a USB hub built in is very often cheaper than this for some reason. Currently it's a dollar more since the promo code doesn't work on it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08V3PHKR8 but it can be had for $8ish if you can wait a few weeks tops

Check to make sure your device actually supports hdmi over usb-c first. I went through 3 different cables before finding out my stupid tablet didn't support it. Laptops should generally be ok, but phones and tablets are hit or miss.
Make sure your USB-C output supports DP Alt Mode. If it doesn't, this cable won't work and you will need to use a USB to HDMI adapter like Plugable makes

Many users remain cautious about refresh rates exceeding 60Hz. For those using a MacBook Pro without a docking station, I recommend the Capshi 8K USB-C to DisplayPort[amazon.com]or HDMI cable, available for $9. This setup has enabled me to achieve a 100Hz refresh rate with the recently discounted Dell S2725DS monitor, priced at $120. Keep in mind that your MacBook Pro must be connected to a power source when running two or more external monitors. If you experience screen flickering, a system reboot may help resolve the issue.
Would this let me screen mirror the latest iPhones/ iPads
Interested to know the same for my Pixel 8. I can't cast bc I don't have Chromecast on my TV. Hoping something like this will allow me to mirror my screen.
