For those who are buying their first set: The drill and impact driver look very similar but have two different purposes. The drill is good for drilling holes and putting screws into "light" materials (such as drywall). The impact driver is good for driving screws into harder materials (such as wood). If you try to drive a screw into wood with a drill, it's easy to strip the screw head because of the speed that the bit will turn as it's slipping. The impact driver makes tiny little movements (very quickly) that help prevent it from slipping and you're less likely to strip the screw head. (It is kinda noisy though.)
