Every yearly visit I make to Mexico I bring back 6 or so bottles of the real Mexican vanilla for friends without the glycol or alcohol in it. Taste is amazing.

I used to live in Tucson and went to Nogales all the time. We we warned do not buy Mexican vanilla.

not sure what the purpose of the glycol in it is, but the alcohol is what extracts the vanilla "essence" if they do not use alcohol what the heck do they use?

The Glycol is a temp stabilizer and keeps it from freezing and becoming unmixed at higher temps. Just makes it temp steady.

Indeed, there is a reason this stuff is so cheap. There's more vanillin (synthetic vanilla flavor) than pure vanilla extract. Real vanilla extract is made with vanilla beans, alcohol and water. None of this other nonsense.
