Isn't the main ingredient in almost every budget bbq sauce high fructose corn syrup?

$6.04 per gallon with 15% S&S is a great price. Tempted out of curiosity since I haven't had this one. I like the reviews that state it tastes like "amusement park" BBQ sauce. The problem is it's a gallon, the wrong season, and I just don't need it. Never stopped me before, but my New Year's resolution is to cut down on impulse purchases.

If I run out of BBQ sauce, I can always whip out some homemade Gates.

For the $6 I bought it..... though it's waaaay too much. BBQ sauce doesn't really go bad so I will open it in the spring time and just share with my extended family in mason jars.

No need when you can complain about the taste. There are so many better options, many of them quite cheap. Where I live, Kroger has sweet baby ray's on sale often enough for 99 cents a bottle, and it's WAY better than Heinz. It's $1.49 a bottle right now and I'd much rather have 4 of those than a gallon of this.

From my experience, while it doesn't spoil, the flavor degrades as you get down to half a bottle left (over say 6 months). It probably would help to split it up in jars so there's less oxygen exposure. One of my favorite sauces in bulk is Cattleman's Kansas City Style, I have a gallon of that I haven't opened yet. It's better than the other big names, IMO.

Sweet baby Rays also contains high fructose corn syrups. Its comparable as a budget low end mass produced sauce at this point. CHEAP. Americans want to know why they are fat.

HFCS is basically an injection of straight glucose and fructose. Both should be consumed with some moderation. Since they are putting it in almost everything these days its smart to at least be conscience of what has it included.
