The DWS779 goes for $399, and I saw a deal with the cheap stand around the holidays, but I haven't seen the DWS780 this low in a very long time.
Minor differences depending on your needs, but two different saws.

This saw hasn't been this cheap for a couple years now. Also better buy from Home Depot. They have a better return policy.

The other model Dewalt offers (779) was sold here not too long ago. I actually picked it up my for myself. The few difference I can find that matter. A few more metal parts, a higher fence and the biggest difference, a light. For 100$ difference and a free stand. I do prefer the 779.

Yep good deal. I picked up the 799 with stand for $399 because I needed a new CMS. Not sure what I would have done if this was also available at the time.
