Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank creuset
according to twinings, while they don't specifically say they DON'T contain microplastics, they do emphasize their bags are made with plant based tea paper. this statement is still better than most others who say nothing. at the moment, most of the tea companies think we're concerned about compostability, so their answers are more geared towards that (not ingestion).
so, while the (microplastic) dust settles on this topic, i switched to loose leaf teas. and there are a few bags (admittedly more expensive) that supposedly don't have microplastics (steven smith lord bergamot is a new favorite of mine, but also numi, republic of tea, etc--just google it).
in the transition to get rid of the tea bags with microplastics, i contemplated giving away practically new boxes of tea (celestial seasonings, barry's, taylors, pg tips). but in the end i couldn't in good conscience even give them away thinking they might be harmful.

I successfully drink on an empty stomach by adding milk. whole milk is best. It's really good together if you like milk tea. a little cream would probably work too. my SO uses cashew milk due to lactose intolerance but it's not as good.
