It's different. The LG C4 is OLED and this is mini led. The OLED tv will have blacker blacks in the shadows but every C4 I viewed beside the Sonys (even the X90), the Sonys had better detail retention in the shadows. My pet peeve, some of these OLED screens are super contrasty and have dark blacks, but you lose so much detail in the shadows. Might be a calibration thing, but I don't want to fool around with that. The LG will have a little better overall contrast, but the Sony has really good contrast too and seems better balanced out of the box. Oh lastly I love HDR because this tv can get so bright - the sun peeks out behind a cloud on the tv and it's so bright it actually makes you squint a little like in real life
Personal preference. As someone who sold TVs and home audio for years I personally have an oled. The level of pop that an oled delivers is something that lcds and mini leds fail to provide. If you have the oled now and think it's fine in the day keep it… if you can't stand it then switch. I tried going the mini led route when updating my main living room setup and instantly returned and got the oled. Again it comes down to personal preference!
as an owner of an lg oled monitor and a sony high end lcd (x900 models... they have since changed the naming scheme this past year i think as I am not sure what the base model names are but tv goes to 1000 nits)

i will put it this way.... they both have pro's and con's --- sony tv gets super bright / argue not best for long long gaming sessions as even being 10 feet away eyes will get strained due to brightness, sony has the best upscaling of 1080p content period/ their local dimming is the best -- so much better they had to do a demonstration showing how they achieve it with a fraction of dimming zones compared to their competition

in my eyes, an oled has the best blacks period / but in color saturation the brightness of a high end sony and its local dimming / upscaling tech it competes directly with an lg oled in brighter/colorful shows in general

what i will say... no matter how good a screen you have is, if the content recorded a poor lighted shot it will look like crap no matter what screen... i was confused with an episode of house of the dragon and had to compare via both because it looked like crap watching it on my oled / went to sony to see if brighter would make it better and it looked bad in a different way

personally i put it this way --- you won't be sad with either / oleds have best blacks but can have issues with black crush, high end sony lcd tv's you end up normally with beastly color saturation/brightness and the local dimming tech makes it almost as good as an oled for dark scenes but not quite

once the new oled tech comes down in price you will get the brightness/color saturation of mini/micro leds but that will be a bit -- at the current rate guessing 5 years

Yep this is a step up from the X90 models, this is mostly the same tv as the X95 from that generation. The X90 is a great tv though, this is just incrementally better tech, but a generation older than the latest Sony models. I recently bought the 65" of this on sale and it's awesome, especially when it comes to HDR brightness and shadow detail

I have a bright room, but I got
77" Class OLED S90D. Is this Sony TV better choice than OLED?

Bought this a few months ago and it's been a great tv and excellent in bright rooms with lots of windows. No sun glares like my old Samsung had issues with. At this price I think it's a steal, but to each their own. I'm extremely happy and I paid $1500 for mine.

I got one a few weeks ago and it's generally fantastic - probably the best you can get at this price. However my unit arrived damaged so I'm currently weighing exchanging it for a new one or returning and getting the LG B4 from their partner store ($100 more with free mounting and soundbar).

The biggest cons on the X93L for me are:
- only two HDMI 2.1 ports. One is dedicated to earc. I have a soundbar, PS5 and XSX, which means I have to unplug and swap cables whenever I use the other device.
- No 120hz Dolby Vision
- it's heavy AF

On the other hand, it has the flatout best upscaling I've seen on any TV by a large margin. I have a large 1080p Plex library and the upscaling is so good that most of the content looks 4K. Next to the LG C4, it's not even a competition.
