"Sushi Rice" just means the kind of rice, which is just Japanese short grain rice. Just so you know, you don't have to use this rice to make sushi. In fact, we never use this sort of instant rice to make sushi (I'm Japanese). We just heat it up for a nice quick meal.

This is a reputable brand in Japan as well.
Term sushi grade....
Good product but expensive by pound. I get bulk from Asian supermarkets

Can't vouch for this brand, but you have to be careful with home made sushi. Most fish from the grocery store are not sushi grade and should not be eaten raw. If you like cooked rolls, that's an option. Otherwise, go to a fish market and make sure to ask for sushi grade.
I went through a phase where I was making musubi. For those unaware, they're sushi rolls but traditionally with spam. I usually went teriyaki chicken. Wife hated them and got sick of me making them, so she threw away my DIY home sushi kit.

Most people know you can't just take a live fish and eat it raw. Sushi fish go thru flash freezing or some other process. I hope you're not eating live fish. Some fish can be eaten raw but that's not really sushi/sashimi. That's called something else, like Korean style hoe, where it's fresh not aged. Sushi is deliberately aged for flavor and safety. Also, this is called sushi rice for Americans to know what type of rice this is. Nobody is using these tiny packages to make sushi.

Costco Sushi vomit
I'm talking about Costco sticky rice containers like in this thread... Not their sushi... Which is fine, obviously not nearly as good as real sushi, and never made me sick

Haven't bought this one but purchased the Yumepirika 5 pack a few weeks ago. Great rice and it's still pretty decent a day or two after cooking.

I don't believe the commenter was confused by what sushi rice was. They were just posting a tangential warning about making sushi.

If you wanted to make rice for eating sushi, heat up 3Tb rice vinegar+1Tb sugar+1Tsp salt until just dissolved. Then slowly drizzle it over a cup of already cooked rice while gently mixing it and fanning it at the same time. The rice shouldn't be piping hot when you do it this. You're welcome!
