This really is an amazing product (and a great deal!) It's probably my favorite cycling accessory and it's extremely accurate. But it is not a replacement for smart, safe, defensive cycling.
I wish they would update this to use USB-C. It uses the ancient micro USB standard if I'm not mistaken.
I will always comment on this product every time it's on slick deals.

If you ride your bike on roads at all please get this.

Yes a varia plus a left bar mirror is a key combo. The Varia lets me relax on the back roads or lighter traffic roads and then notifies me, then check the vehicle a few times in my mirror as they approach. Mainly looking out for a distracted driver that's on their phone while hugging the shoulder where I'm riding, if their still doing that after seeing your insanely bright strobe they are drunk or want to kill you.
I also rec always running a bright front strobe which will protect you from the front from people pulling out on you. Honestly I feel people started giving more respect when I changed from 150lm cyglite tail light with separate varia radar only to the Varia with tail strobe, maybe it's because it changes as the car is approaching to get their attention.

I'm mainly a MTB rider but the Varia has given me enough safety feeling to ride roads even though I don't live in a area that has bike lanes or is very respectful to bikes

Worths full price if you ride with/in traffic. Typically on sale for $150 (what i paid for mine), I think this $140 is best price yet, iirc.

There are off brand copies but for like 20% off, so I'd buy the Garmin again.

Have the 715 and it's a game changer. A little flukey in the city and when on highway access roads, but great to have. The electric cars give no warning they're coming and this shows they're there.

It does use MicroUSB. It's really the only flaw (and minor one) in an otherwise excellent product.

Still need to look over the shoulder when turning. If the vehicle is traveling your exact speed even just a few feet behind, it disappears from the display.
