Pros-
beautiful color accuracy
extremely vibrant
power draw isn't too high (25w ish)
perceived latency is amazing
hdr is amazing
the monitor is very thin
Cons-
blacks are only inky when it's dark, when in a lit room blacks are worse then on va.

There is an ugly pixel shift that happens to prevent burn in that can't be turned off.

They use a cheap piece of plastic joycon that will easily break for the joycon (osd control).

there are unusually large edge bezels.

no built in speaker

unusually large and unnecessary rated (140w) power supply

I'm giving more cons here because most of the pros should just be understood with how awesome OLED is. I want to make sure any of the minor issues aren't deal breakers. this monitor sku exists purely due to a large amount of poorly binned units for the Samsung g60sd. they created this to solve that issue and move the units. the g60sd has 360hz and these have 240

Don't be afraid to ask for a discount from a rep in chat, stacked with two other codes for the G60SD for around $550

Should I pull the trigger on this or wait for the new 500hz monitors to come out and the 2.1 DP ?

Depends, are you poor? Or do you like wasting money where it has been proven you won't see a difference?

Personally, I think most people should pay $500 for this, rather than $1,100 for that. The price difference is just too much for what little upgrades are on the new/upcoming OLED monitors.

If you have $1,100 to blow and won't need to think twice about spending that, then sure, buy the newer model. I considered getting the 4k 27" monitor, but realized that extra $600 probably wouldn't be worth it to go from 1440p to 4k and have DP 2.1.

Edit: I did just learn that (at least) Alienware's 27" 4k OLED monitor is $900. A difference of $400 is still a lot, but... that's a lot better than a $600 difference.

That is literally why I'm asking,so i don't waste money on this while something mush better will be out soon, and I'm ok paying double the price . And with 500hz 21.DP, there is a huge difference here budd .

Is this sufficient for checking my AOL messages and checking my nieces and nephews MySpace accounts? 🤔

I don't think it can handle that load.

Less input lag is noticeable (yes I know that's for ghosting as well)

8K monitors coming in 2-3 years. 16K in about 5 years

You'll need a compatible graphic card, otherwise, it's a waste.
