They're all very similar and are all quality ports of the game. The Android and Windows versions had problems when initially released, the problems have all been fixed by patches so any one of them will work.

I mean the original version for SNES is one of the greatest 2d games ever made, I don't know how the DS version could be worth it but the SNES not worth it.
I have it on google play already, it supports external controllers and has almost all the extra content the DS version got it's missing the monster raising mini game from the DS version it has everything else including the cutscenes.

SquareEnix_jp on X translated:

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the release of "Chrono Trigger" in 1995. This timeless masterpiece that transcends generations and is still talked about today was born from a dream project by Yuji Horii of "Dragon Quest," Akira Toriyama of "Dragon Ball," and Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of "Final Fantasy."

As we mark the 30th anniversary, we will be launching various projects that go beyond the world of the game over the next year to express our gratitude to everyone who has played Chrono Trigger so far ‼️
The latest information will be posted on Square Enix Official X and @ChronoTriggerPR , so please look forward to it ⏰

Heard the DS version is the best. I don't have a DS but I can easily emulate it. Is the android version worth it?

The OST is popular with the j-orchestra live concerts playing anime/game tunes with classical instruments but I prefer the chiptune. Would be more impressive if instead of turning chiptune to orchestral symphony, they make classical instruments sound like chiptune acoustically. Tell me if this has been done before

What external controllers are we talking about here? πŸ‘€

The standard controllers that Android and iOS support -- wired or Bluetooth Xbox/Xinput, PS4/5, and Switch gamepads.

The DS version has the most content, sure, but the additional content (bonus minigame, bonus dungeon, bonus boss tied to Chrono Cross) is really low quality filler. I recommend the original SNES version over it (also for the original translation with Frog's distinctive speech).
Of course, the Android/iOS version (which also has the bonus dungeon and boss) is the easiest to buy and run, and all in all the junk content isn't that hard to avoid, so it's still a good choice IMO.

Great timing. Been wanting to try this port but that $10 price tag was a bit steep with the iffy reviews.

this is the lowest price I've seen. typical sale price is $5.

I've played the snes and psx version a bunch of times already so i'd like to try the new additional stuff.

The top comment on the iOS App Store is that cloud saves between iPhone and Apple TV are broken. Anyone have any experience with that?

I have it on iOS, and play through Apple TV with a PS5 controller. I know Xbox controllers work, too. I'm pretty sure just about any bluetooth controller would work.

If you're an amazon app store user, you should've gotten anemail that the amazon app store is going down this year, and that the coins leftover will be refunded somehow that hasn't been specified. Just a headsup if you buy it on the amazon app store, you might not be able to access your download later.

You can see that they discontinued the amazon coin service here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/cu...DBKXBNGC8E
