Amazon Prime Visa card holders receive an additional 20% CB over the usual 5% CB, for a total of 25% CB bringing the after CB price down to $37.49.

EDIT: Looks like these cameras originally had RTSP but TP-Link pulled that feature - a shame.
This C425 camera is also compatible with the Tapo hub. When you have the hub, recordings can be stored locally on the hub without the cloud subscription and instead of an SD card in the camera.
Picked one up, thanks! Bought this about a year ago on sale from Amazon for $79.99. It's worked really well in hot and cold, has decent detection and a good app with no required monthly subscription. I have an SD card inserted for local storage which can accessed via the app. Battery life lasts approx. 3 months with my current moderate detection sensitivity settings, would be longer with lower sensitivity. Cheers

I wish it allows 24/7 recording like Kasa cameras does.

Does anyone use these out in the yard 50 or 60 feet away from your house?

I bought this same camera for that same use case and in my experience - no it doesn't detect motion and therefore doesnt record past about 30 feet.

This camera, like most all battery cameras, uses an infrared PIR sensor to detect motion, then one that sensor detects motion it flips on the camera to record. I'm not an expert on these, but I've done some research and tested a few of these cameras and this is what I've found: Those PIR sensors in my experience are usually too finicky for my needs. They work by detecting horizontal movements of heat. This means it really only detects people who are walking horizontally past the camera (not towards it). If its hot and the difference in temperature between body heat and air temp it might not set to record. If its cold and the person is wearing a thick jacket it might not record. If the person is more than 15 feet or so away it might not record. And since it takes about 2 seconds for when the PIR sensor detects motion to when the camera starts recording, if someone is sprinting across the camera's field of view the recording might miss it entirely.

Ultimately I bought a hardwired camera that can constantly record. Battery cameras typically don't do this since they require too much power. These can also do a rolling motion window (like record clips with ~5 seconds or whatever before the motion starts) to ensure you don't miss anything. For my use cases most battery cameras don't work for what I need.

it doesnt? Does it record only specific times during the day? Smilie
specific times or motion based. not 24/7. i miss some events when it takes time to recognize the motion. I'd not suggest to place it outdoor without a shade. I had my previous one replaced due to water damage during last winter

Got this and only complaint is it's slow to show live view. Battery life is good...much better than previous Ring.

Link to hub please, cursory reading of amazon reviews doesn't seem like it supports hub

TP-Link announcement of C425 compatibility with H200 hub:
https://community.tp-link.com/en/...pic/696314

Tapo H200 looks sold out on TP-Link website and Amazon, but is available at BHPhoto:
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...827585-REG

H200 hub is also included with the D230S doorbell or two C420 camera pack. The new H500 hub has been released in some countries and allows up to 16 cameras, but is not available in the US yet. These hubs support Ethernet connection to a router. It is my understanding the H100 hub is also compatible with limited function because it has WiFi-only, no Ethernet connection.

been using it over a year. Great cam but the detection isn't that good. For example, if a person/shipper enters my driveway, the cam only detects and records when the person exits my driveway. :/

The review suggest continuous recording is possible.. although it seems like that feature is typically available on hard wired cams.. ordered one and will find out I guess
